The Vidy stadium project is part of a redesign of the large-scale site. The site is envisaged as a river delta where glacial sediment has accumulated moraines. The topography is worked in parallel dunes to the Flon, symbolically connecting the city and the lake. Terrain analysis allowed a constant ballance of cut and fill material to be maintained, creating new embankments for seating from the excavated material, and no additional fill material to be brought to site.
